DYNALP is an INTERREG IIIB project which is supported by the EU and encompasses 52 towns and villages. Most of them are members of the "Alliance in the Alps" network of towns and villages. On this website you will find information on the project as a whole and also on the individual projects of the respective towns and villages. The towns and villages that jointly run the DYNALP project are concretely implementing the Alpine Convention in the following areas: tourism, conservation of nature and the countryside, mountain agriculture and sustainable development and regional planning.

History

The EU Interreg IIIB programme "Alpine space" wants to achieve the following: strengthen the Alps as a central, territorial unit, encourage and support sustainable development across the borders, improve transport and accessibility and promote the protection and the development of the Alps' natural and cultural heritage.
This project is funded by the European Union via its "Interreg III" programme.
DYNALP stands for "enhanced value for nature and landscape for marketing and tourism in the rural Alps - dynamic rural alpine space".
52 partner towns and regions from Switzerland (17), Liechtenstein (1), Germany (8), Italy (10), Slovenia (1) and Austria (15) have been accept by the project DYNALP and will receive a total of 2.1 million euros over a period of 3 years. This project is a brainchild of the activities of the "Alliance in the Alps" network of towns and villages. 40 of the towns and villages participating in the EU project are members of the "Alliance in the Alps" network (Austria 10, Germany 4, Switzerland 15, Italy 9, Slovenia 1, Liechtenstein 1).
These towns and villages want to work on projects within the framework of the above-mentioned goals and exchange experiences across linguistic and cultural boundaries. The projects address the implementation of one or several of the following four protocols of the Alpine Convention: Tourism, Conservation of Nature and the Countryside, Mountain Farming and Regional Planning and Sustainable Development.
The coordination office (project management) is scheduled to be in Mäder (Austria) for the three years.
The project languages are the four Alpine languages German, French, Italian and Slovenian. Communication with and reports for the EU will be in English.

Goals

To implement projects for the following four protocols of the Alpine Convention: Tourism, Conservation of Nature and the Countryside, Mountain Farming and Regional Planning and Sustainable Development.
To demonstrate opportunities and develop positions regarding European regional policy. To increase the capacity of small towns, villages and regions to implement sustainable development.

Results

  • Publicly accessible database with sample projects (good practice).
  • A new tested method for sustainable development in towns and villages (ALS).
  • Important insights into sustainable regional developments in Europe based on the evaluation of the project.
  • Documented results and tools for increasing the innovative capacity in small towns and villages.
A new communication structure for other towns and villages.

The concrete results of the project will be used for the further development of the existing network of towns and villages "Alliance in the Alps". This network continues the implementation of the Alpine convention at a municipal level. Its activities form the basis for the quality assurance of the DYNALP project. The network of towns and villages thus makes an important long-term contribution to sustainable regional development in the Alps.
